Home loans for single moms with bad credit are available but you need to know that they will be hard to get. The other issue is that this type of loan is typically very expensive and there are stipulations on getting one.
Usually, banks want to give loans to people who show the lowest risk and have the highest ability to pay back the home loan. If you are somone who has stellar credit in the 700 range, then you are a good candidate for getting a home loan.
But, it doesn’t stop there. You also need to have skin in the game. What that means is that you need to have equity in the home you are getting a mortgage loan for. If you are going to buy a $100,000 house, for example, the bank will want to see a 20% downpayment, or $20,000.
Now, that is becasue they want to make sure you are essentially partnering with them and stand to lose money if the deal goes bad.
The bank, when doing the research on you, will also want to make sure that you have a good source of steady income and that you will be able to pay back the mortgage loan from that steady income. If you have had a stable position for more than 2 years, they will look favorably on that.
Now, what about or how do I get home loans for single moms with bad credit? Essentially, if you have bad credit, you will have to work harder in the other areas to make up for that bad credit.
Your job will be to convince the underwriters of the loan that you can payback the loan. You may need to have a larger down payment, and you may also need to have someone co sign on the mortgage note with you. The other thing you can expect to pay is a higher interest rate. Since you don’t have favorable credit, you will not get favorable mortgage interest rates.
But, you can get home loans for single mothers with bad credit, as well as home loans for single parents with bad credit.
